But did you know that there was a drama group operating from the old hospital in the century before last?
This wonderful old document was discovered at Hitchin Museum. It is genuine, but just look at the names in the cast lists

The Hospital was originally called the Three Counties' Asylum and it seems that even as far back as the 1860's there were Amateur Theatricals being performed for the public.
Was Mr Peter Forceps a Theatre assistant of one sort by day and a Theatre performer of another sort by night?
Did Mr Shyman Filgrave have a little stage fright?
How did Mr Sperks get his Christian name?
